Extractions and Oral Surgery

When tooth decay is too extensive to save a tooth, tooth removal (extraction) may be the only option left. Another situation where extraction is recommended is when a tooth is loose due to long-standing gum and bone disease. This is done as soon as possible to minimise bone loss caused by ongoing disease. At Caizen Dental we are very careful not to further traumatise the jaw bone when teeth are removed, as preservation of the bone volume is very important when it comes to replacing a tooth with a dental implant.

Our lead dental clinician, Dr Kevin Magee, has had extensive consultant-led, hospital based oral surgery training and can deal with most wisdom tooth extractions and apicectomy procedures.
